A note from founder, Jessica:

MEI STUDIOS began as a design exploration of growing up between two cultures. I'm Jessica, half Chinese, half English - and I often felt neither one thing nor the other.

It has grown into something wider: a space for anyone building a self made from more than one world.

The between is not a gap. It is a vocabulary to create from. And where beauty lies.

Mei was never about being just one thing. The collections bring art, clothing and objects into one world, because whether you dress your home or yourself, it's an expression and an identity. The print on your wall, the way you set your table, the clothes you wear -these are all part of the aesthetics of layered living, and the spaces you make your own.

After more than ten years in fashion, including designing for Paul Smith, and having lived in both New York and London, I founded Mei Studios in 2025. It began with a print collection, and it was through painting that the vision became clear. Like art, fashion is about play - and I wanted to find ways to be create clothing while staying honest about what it takes to make something.
